Intergard 251

Description

Intergard 251 is a zinc phosphate-pigmented two-component epoxy anti-corrosive filler. Intergard 251 can be used as an industrial maintenance primer for various anti-corrosive coating systems for use in the offshore, petrochemical, chemical, pulp and paper, and bridge sectors. Intergard 251 is for use on correctly prepared surfaces in new construction situations.

Intergard 251 is a primer great for factory application before full system application on site because of its quick drying and handling characteristics and extended overcoat ability. Good abrasion resistance provided by Intergard 251 helps to reduce mechanical harm while in transit from the factory to the location.

All areas that are going to be coated need to be contamination-free, dry, and clean. All surfaces should be evaluated and prepared in line with ISO 8504:2000 prior to painting. In line with SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning, any oil or grease should be eliminated.

The material is provided in two packages together. Always combine an entire container according to the instructions. The unit must be used within the working pot life stated once it has been mixed.

• Use an electric agitator to stir the Base (Part A).
• Use the power agitator to fully combine the Curing Agent (Part B) and Base (Part A) mixtures.

For use in chemical environments where zinc-based materials may be vulnerable to attack under both acidic and alkaline conditions, Intergard 251 is recommended. The application of Intergard 251 to properly prepped steel is intended. However, it is also feasible to use too many prefabrication primers that have been approved.
