Description

The Boiler Phosphate Ampoule Test Kit offers a simple and secure way to determine the phosphate levels in boiler water. Each self-filling ampoule has a tapered, prescored tip that contains a liquid reagent that has been measured out and vacuum-sealed.

The appropriate amount of sample is drawn into the ampoule when the tip is snapped off and the ampoule is submerged in a cooled boiler water sample. A small bubble then forms.

Mixing the sample and reagent requires repeatedly inverting the ampoule and allowing the bubble to travel from end to end. By contrasting the ampoule’s color with the colored standards, the resulting yellow hue is measured.

Using the Boiler Phosphate Ampoule Test Kit, boiler water phosphate should be checked every day. For testing phosphate in water systems running at pressures up to 60 bar, this kit was created.

NOTE: Before doing this test, filter the boiler water sample. The funnel and filter paper are provided separately.
