Description

Unitor Descaling Liquid is a potent hydrochloric acid-based product that contains active corrosion inhibitors, wetting agents, and descaling accelerators in a very effective solution.

Unitor Descaling Liquid is a corrosion inhibitor-containing acid-based liquid product that is very successful in removing scale and rust. It shouldn’t be used on galvanized surfaces made of aluminum, zinc, tin, stainless steel, titanium, or any other metal for which the manufacturer suggests a particular grade cleaner.

It is strongly advised to frequently flush the equipment with fresh water during cleaning, between each cargo hold, and before storage to prevent needless corrosion of the cleaning kits.

Gases like carbon dioxide and hydrogen may be reactants from the acid components in descaling products. With gas detection equipment on the vents, hydrogen gas formation can be observed. Gasses should be properly removed by purging the system with water after draining the cleaning solution in order to prevent suffocating and potentially explosive atmosphere.
