Description
A liquid mixture of active polymer and antifoam called AMEROYAL evaporator treatment is used to stop scale buildup in high- and low-pressure evaporators. Freshwater, brackish water, and ocean water have all had success with AMEROYAL treatment. Scale deposits that have already formed can be removed using AMEROYAL therapy.
The polymers used in the AMEROYAL evaporator treatment stop the scale-forming minerals in the water from precipitating crystal development in the way they normally do when applied to seawater. The scale-forming crystal patterns are changed so they can no longer attach firmly to metal surfaces or one another and cannot obstruct heat transfer. The overboard discharge brine eventually carries the detached solids out of the evaporator while they are kept in suspension.
Freshwater or seawater is used to dilute the AMEROYAL treatment before feeding it continuously to the evaporator’s inlet line, evaporator shell, or right before any external heat exchanger. Based on the rated capacity at standard operating temperature and brine density, the suggested dosage rate is 30 mls per ton of distilled water produced each day.
