Description
AFFF 6% is an aqueous film forming foam concentrate made primarily of fluorocarbon and hydrocarbon surfactants, as well as a variety of preservatives, solvents, and stabilisers. One of the functions of this foam is to create an aqueous covering that cuts off the oxygen supply and swiftly extinguishes the flames.
The film is created by draining expanded foam, which creates a safe blanket that reduces the creation of flammable vapours and cools the fuel surface, effectively extinguishing the fire and preventing it from rekindling. Despite being heavier than the burning liquid, the water-low foam’s surface tension allows it to float on top of the liquid surface.
This product should be mixed in a proportional solution of 6 parts concentrate to 94 parts water. It can also be kept in fresh water as a premix solution. The AFFF 6%, just like the AFFF 3% foam type, is majorly designed for use on Class B hydrocarbon fuel fires, such as diesel, aviation fuels, and oil.

The AFFF 6% type of foam is formulated for use on class B hydrocarbon fuel fires, such as diesel, aviation fuels, and oil. It works with aspirating and non-aspirating discharge systems.
