Unitor Mud & Silt Remover a liquid organic polyelectrolyte is designed to dissolve the adhering power of mud and silt and stop heavy sediment buildup in ballast tanks.

Mud, silt, and sediment are deposited in the ballast tanks as a result of the gradual loading of ballast water. If this is not taken care of on a regular basis, a “permanent ballast” may build up, posing difficulties for tank emptying and contaminating ballast water.

By drawing particles together and making them more fluid, Unitor Mud & Silt Remover eliminates mud and silt from ballast tanks and prevents the formation of layers of hard packed sediment. As a result, a loose deposit develops that is easier to remove during a deep water ballast replacement.

Additionally, the accumulation of sediments in ballast water tanks will serve as a breeding ground for small and large-scale organisms, preventing their transfer through existing ballast water treatment systems (BWTS). Such sediments can reduce the effectiveness of chlorination and UV treatment and increase the risk of D2 quality standards being exceeded if they are suddenly dislodged.
