Interprime 538

Description

Interprime 538 is a zinc phosphate anti-corrosive pigmented one-pack alkyd preparation. as a universal standard primer for use on interior steelwork. It is used at Newbuilding. Interprime 538 is used under the guidelines of the Global Marine Specifications.

All areas that are going to be coated need to be contamination-free, dry, and clean. Remove all oil or grease, soluble contaminants, and other foreign substances in accordance with SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning. High pressure fresh water wash or fresh water wash, as applicable. Before using this one-pack coating, it should always be fully mixed with a power agitator.

Interprime 538 is not recommended for use on exterior steelwork. In good conditions, use. The area that will be coated has to be at least 3°C above the dew point in temperature. For optimum application properties bring the material to 21-27°C, except if explicitly instructed otherwise, previous to mixing and application. Unmixed materials should be kept in secure storage (in closed receptacles).

Application and use of this product work must always be done in accordance with all applicable national Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and laws. To keep solvent vapour concentrations within safe ranges and to safeguard against toxic or oxygen-deficient dangers, adequate ventilation and safety precautions must be taken during application and drying. Precautions should be taken to prevent skin and ocular contact (ie. gloves, goggles, face masks, barrier creams etc.) The workplace environment and application techniques determine the actual safety precautions.
