Interline 982

Description

Interline 982 is used as a blast holding primer for temporary protection of newly blasted steel during the application of tank linings. Interline 982 serves as a flexible primer to maximize the benefits of the dehumidification process used when lining the interior of tanks. Interline 982 is a completely compatible tank primer that will keep the applied tank liner performing at its best.

All areas that are going to be coated need to be contamination-free, dry, and clean. All areas must be evaluated and treated in line with ISO 8504:2000 prior to painting. In line with SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning, any oil or grease should be eliminated.

The precise International Protective Coatings Working Procedures for the installation of Tank Linings must be followed when applying Interline 982.

The material is provided in two packages together. Always combine an entire container according to the instructions. The unit must be used during the working pot life stated once it has been mixed.

• Use an electric agitator to stir the Base (Part A).
• Use a power agitator to fully combine the Curing Agent (Part B) and Base (Part A) contents.

In the semi-protected atmosphere of a tank interior, Interline 982 can sustain a blast for up to 28 days. Moisture will cause oxidation on the surface, necessitating another round of pounding.

To make sure that the surface is properly “wetted,” heavily pitted sections must be stripe coated by brush. Always keep the surface temperature 3°C or more above the dew point. When using Interline 982 in small areas, make sure there is enough ventilation.

Only qualified applicators in commercial settings should use this substance. Application and use of this product work must always be done in accordance with all applicable national Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, laws, and rules.

Both during application and the subsequent drying process, appropriate ventilation should be given. In small areas, forced extraction will be necessary. During application and drying, ventilation and/or respiratory personal safety equipment must be available. Precautions should be taken to prevent skin and ocular contact (overalls, gloves, goggles, masks, barrier cream, etc).
